ACCOR ARENA (PARIS)
29 MAY 2021
Ambition Live Again is an unprecedented experimental concert based on the scientific study SPRING* promoted by the AP-HP, the aim of which is to assess the risks of transmission of the SARS-CoV-2 virus, responsible for COVID-19, during a large-scale concert in a standing configuration, not distanced, in a closed venue.
This clinical trial consists of comparing the risk of contamination between 2 groups of “randomized” people (distributed randomly): an “experimental” group of 5,000 people will attend the concert and a “control” group of 2,500 people will not attend the concert.
*SPRING: Study on PRevention of SARS-CoV-2 transmission in a large INdoor Gathering event (name of the scientific study promoted by AP-HP).
To resume a festive and cultural life in complete safety, the authorities and entertainment professionals need concrete measures and elements in order to imagine the reception conditions for the public, staff and artists for the future.
The resumption of live, it’s artists and technicians who find their work and their mission, venues that reopen, touring teams that set out again on the roads, producers who launch new creative projects, festivals that are opening their doors, but also a whole chain of service providers who restart, in the field of communication, promotion, technical, security, public reception, catering… it is also the cultural and economic dynamism of the territories: transport, shops, hotels and restaurants, businesses, local service providers, reception of schoolchildren, social and cultural life of the population in general, and young people in particular…
AP-HP researchers are working on a study that will complement those carried out in France and Europe.
The Ambition Live Again project is therefore not just a concert: it allows AP-HP research teams to conduct a real scientific study secured by a clinical research protocol.
Purpose of the study
The purpose of this study is to evaluate a specific health protocol for resuming concerts and festivals in a standing configuration, without being able to respect physical distancing.
The main hypothesis is that a negative screening test for SARS-CoV-2 before the concert can considerably limit the risk of generating infectious foci of transmission.
Promoted and coordinated by the AP-HP, this research will produce scientific measures, which will feed into health protocols adapted to standing configurations, so that cultural events do not generate overexposure to the risk of COVID-19 contamination.
Ambition Live Again in brief...
Indochine will perform on the stage of the Arena Accor for this unique experiment in Europe!
“We were offered to participate in this unprecedented scientific experiment and we immediately volunteered to give hope to all this cultural sector, public, artists, technicians, producers of shows, festivals affected for almost 18 years. months so that tours and concerts resume as before.
Indochine will play there on a voluntary basis, only the technicians will be paid.”
